HI GUYS

MY NAME IS BRIAN GREER--I WENT TO WHITEINCH PRIMARY SCHOOL FROM 1964 UNTIL 1970.

MY MEMORIES OF THEY DAYS ARE STILL AS VIVID TODAY AS THEY WERE THEN.I HAVE STAYED ACROSS FROM THE SCHOOL ALL MY LIFE IN MEDWYN STREET

THE SCHOOL HAS CHANGED ALOL SINCE I WAS THERE.ALL NEW WINDOWS AND A NEW ROOF.THE OLD ONE WAS SET ON FIRE BY PLUMBERS WHO WERE WORKING IN THE LOFT.BUT LEFT A GAS TORCH LIT WHILE THEY WENT FOR DINNER.

THE SCHOOL HAD OUTSIDE TOILETS THEN--COLD AND FREEZING IN THE WINTER.YOU HAD TO USE THEM AT PLAYTIME OR LUNCHTIME.

EVERYBODY GOT FREE MILK IN THE MORNING BREAK.TWO PEOPLE IN THE CLASS WENT DOWN TO THE GROUND FLOOR TO COLLECT THE METAL CRATES WHICH HELD THE MILK AND TAKE IT INTO YOUR CLASS AND THE TEACHER HAD A BOX OF STRAWS AT HER DESK WHICH SHE GAVE OUT AND YOU HAD YOUR MILK..ALOT OF THE CHILDREN WENT TO THE DINNER SCHOOL--PEOPLE WHOS PARENTS WHO DIDNT HAVE ALOT OF MONEY GOT FREE MEALS--I WAS LUCKY.I JUST CROSSED THE STREET TO MY HOUSE FOR MY LUNCH--AND LEFT THE HOUSE AT THE SOUND OF THE BELL IN THE MORNING.

WE ALWAYS HAD A SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM THEN.1966--1967--1969 WERE REALLY GOOD TEAMS.MR MOORE THE JANITOR THEN

WAS A GREAT COACH AND TRAINER,HE ALWAYS GOT THE BEST OUT OF THE BOYS.WE PLAYED SCOTSTOUN SCHOOL--BLAIRDARDIE--KNIGHTSWOOD--THORNWOOD--PRIMARYS--SOME MORE BUT I CANT REMEMBER THEM--OUR HOME PARK WAS IN VICTORIA PARK--THE PITCHES WERE NOT GRASS ONES BUT WERE A MIXTURE OF BLACK ASH--LUMPS OF COAL--AND GRAVEL AND ALOT MORE RUBBISH.CUT LEGS WERE OFTEN.

GIRLS PLAYED ROPES--BALLS AGAINST WALLS--TIG--I CANT REMEMBER IF THEY HAD A HOCKEY TEAM.BUT EACH PLAY GROUND WAS ONE FOR BOYS AND ONE FOR GIRLS.

THE CLASS I WAS IN HAD ABOUT 30 CHILDREN IN IT.I DONT KNOW HOW THE TEACHERS MANAGED TO COPE.ALL THE CLASSES

HAD ABOUT THAT AMOUNT OF CHILDREN IN IT THEN.

IVE STILL GOT ALOT OF MEMORIES TO TELL THE PUPILS.BUT ILL HAVE TO GET MY THINKING HEAD ON

ALL MY LOVE --FOR NOW--KEEP WELL

BRIAN GREER--AGE 54.
