"Beginning to touch an nerve"

A review of Springboig St Johns School by The "Observer" written on Saturday 10th of April 2010

I think the anonymous persons comments are very much flawed but it’s good that management ......oops sorry some people are hurt by my comments are voicing an opinion. To start their comments by saying that I (the observer) have to take a long hard look at myself is amusing. This to me is clearly from a person who has limited knowledge of what is going on at the school. It is also from someone who has been told or believes that their job is secure. It is also from someone who would like people reading their comment that everything is being done for the benefit of the boys and the new plans are the way forward....don’t make me laugh. The comment also imply to the people reading it that the teachers motives for the strike action especially with the exams coming up are questionable.....nice one. It was also a nice touch to say that the plans being put in place far outstrip the current provision and the move will benefit generations of troubled youngsters. These comments smell of just a hint of management propaganda. The headline to their comments also tells me I’m touching an nerve. This anon person should ask themselves why should these new plans outstrip the current provision because as he/she will know that the current provision has been tried and tested for a long time and has worked (many of the comments would testify to this). The current provision can improve and should be but certainly not by these new plans and certainly not if the present management are allowed to stay in place. For the anon person to say the new plans will benefit generations of troubled youngsters is very naive. The new plans are very much profit making orientated and certainly not charity and helping disadvantage pupils orientated. They also smack of the present management keeping their jobs and being able to hire and fire who they want and when they want. This anon person questions further industrial action from the teachers and says it’s time to be honest. You have to laugh again and again at them for using the word honest and questioning the teachers motives when in fact they should be asking themselves are management being honest and what are their motives. So this anon person really needs to look at the real picture and not the one that he or she is selfishly looking at. .
