The day that the police had to be called to Capri Skies and it made the news headlines was Friday 29th May. Later on that evening a notice appeared in the window of the shop stating that due to unforseen circumstances, the shop was closed. It remained closed from this point onwards.

I also have my wedding insurance with E&L Insurance. First step is to call them to request a claim form to be sent to you. They'll ask you to summarise your reason for your claim during this call.

I completed the claim form and provided copies of the statements posted on the Capri Skies website. I also included news articles relating to the closure of the shop. I also sent them a copy of my invoice from Capri Skies. I only sent the original when they made request for it.

I have found however that E&L Insurance are not the fastest at closing your claim. I raised my claim in June (got married in July and had to pay out for all my wedding attire again) and despite being told that my claim has been approved and passed for payment approx. 6 weeks ago, I still haven't received any money back as yet. I'm currently chasing this with them on a weekly basis at the moment.

Finally, E&L didn't approve any payments made by my credit card. I personally thought that this was ridiculous as surely it shouldn't matter how I paid for my wedding, I thought wedding insurance covered it all. But you learn from experience and my claim was only approved against a cash payment made to Capri Skies. I contacted my credit card provider once they let me know this and I've since received my money back from them (this was closed off in a matter of weeks). .
