"Can they do that"

On the 24th of nov we paid half of the amount that was owned to aic and agreeded to pay the rest in dec on my pay day,two days after my pay day they have send a new amount out saying that we must settle the amount owning and how was we going to pay itso they are going back on there word and making us pay more can they do that..
