My grandfather, Benjamin Jackson, served in the Cameronian Scottish Rifles in 1891 when he just 19 years of age. He rose to the rank of serjeant. At the start of the First World War, being too old for the infantry, he immediately enlisted in the Army Service Corps, he was by that time 42 years of age. He was an acting serjeant in the ASC when he was wounded in action on 22nd March 1918. He died of his wounds the next day.

When I was a child my grandmother had a photo of him hanging on the wall of her kitchen. He was quite young and carried serjeant's strips and a batton under his arm. Sadly, the photo disappeared some time ago. The photo was probably an official one taken for and by the army. Can anyone advise me where I might be able to obtain a duplicate copy of the photo?
