Hello there Joseph, my name is Mark Bird, and I attended St Joan of Arc School from January 1984 to June 1990, strangely enough, because I was nearly 20 when I left school. I knew Mr. Doogan from when I was there, so he must have taught PE at the school for 24 years at least.

I remember him saying he started at the school in Summer of 1983, one term before I started there. It's always nice to know these things, but the one thing on my mind is when Miss Steele, a former head-teacher of the school, retired. I had so many opportunities to ask this, but I didn't think about it at the time.

I have a feeling that it was in 1977 that she retired, and then Mrs Ritchie took over as head-teacher, and she retired in 1987. I was there when this happened, so I can say this on very good authority..
