"Some Very Odd Teachers in Those Days!"

A review of Alexandra Parade Primary School by Patricia written on Wednesday 5th of October 2022

I attended this school from 1960-1967 and whilst I enjoyed it very much, I had a couple of very strange teachers. Both were women and both humiliated children in front of their peers.

One had class servants and the other rattled children against the radiator. I remember them vividly, though I won't name them.

The headmaster Mr Drummond used to give regular prizes of bars of Highland Toffee.

I am still in touch with friends I made at the school, though we are in different parts of the world now.

I was lucky enough to go with teachers and one parent to Italy with a school group. We stayed in Rome and Sestri Levanti and travelled by train over the Alps. It was quite an adventure..
