"Thank goodness for Nico"

We left on 21st October to journey to Amsterdam & the Dutch Coast. Our time of departure was changed a couple of days before we left, which we did not think of as being a problem. The journey to Hull took 10 long hours. This was caused by us having to join up on the Coach with the trip to the Black Forest as neither trip was full. We were all over the Country picking up people. Nico did his best to jolly things along however it was necessary for him to have his breaks.. This had not been thought through by the tour organisers. We eventually arrived in Hull at 5.30pm with Nico's boss telephoning whilst we were on the way asking where he was as we should have arrived earlier. The trip on the P&O Ferry was fine with comfortable accommondation and lovely food.

The Lakeland Hotel in Monnickadam is okay. Not as clean as it could have been. I ended up sweeping long dark hairs from the bedroom floor and giving the bathroom another clean myself. Food in the Hotel was fine at Breakfast although quite poor for Dinner with extremely poor attention from the staff.

The trip on the Tuesday to Amsterdam included us having a Tour Guide and trip on the canal, at a further cost, although this was worth it. She also took some of the party into Amsterdam at night to the red light district again at a further cost. On the Wednesday we we set loose in Amsterdam with a really good map and had plenty of time to ourselves to explore the City. With having been on the trip the day before you had a good idea of what you wanted to see and do.

On the return journey we had to wait at Hull for about one and a half hours for the ferry returning with the people from the Black Forest trip. One member of the party got extremely angry then although nothing could be done about it since the two trips were merged. Nico was a true professional and kept his cool throughout by not biting back at the Lady however trying to explain was a waste of his time..
