Hi, i would say first, ALWAYS get permission to remove, just call daldowie and theyll advise you if and how it can be done, if theres a charge for removal and/or reinstallation by them.

the reception staff in all funeral services providers should be trained in sensitivity in dealing with callers, considering the nature of their work.

if you get a nice one, they may even know of local tradesmen who are reputable, as it may be a request they have dealt with several times in the past.

just ensure you get several quotes on all paid for aspects, as at times where we are grieving, the last person we often think of is ourselves sadly.remember too that the condition caused by the effects of grief and loss can often cause even very intelligent, and forthright people to get taken advantage of, because unscrupulous people do exist, thankfully rarely.

Whilst there are nasty people out there, but there are so very many more caring, helpful and understanding service providers.

so, its more than worth asking funeral services staff, there are plenty who provide more help than required of them. take care, and look after yourself, it can be too easy to forget that..

with sympathy and respect

as for daldowie, its ok. nice services, nice organist and eulogy, allowance of some personalisation but the entire place looks, feels and is depressing. i know its supposed to be, but i wish it was somehow more tasteful and elegant, the building and parking area i mean, the insides a time warp and looks like a small old fashioned chapel, its clean, but a bit more dignity could be given to the relatives that their loved ones had been remembered in a tasteful and not-cheap manner

.
