"Never Again!!!"
A review of The Filling Station by Michelle - Tuesday 17th of August 2010I’ve used the Filling Station in Glasgow many times as it’s in the heart of the city so was a good lunch venue when shopping and a good dinner venue when attending the cinema nearby. My daughter also celebrated her 16th birthday here as it was such a beloved restaurant, but I vowed on 11 Aug 2010 never to return.
With tickets in hand for a 17.20 cinema performance I arrived at the Filling Station slightly before 16.00 think I had plenty of time for food know the service had always been exceptional in the past and having forgone lunch in anticipation.
The couple in front of us were seated promptly…and we were ignored.
Finally we were seated… then left alone. Eventually I caught the server’s eye and we ordered food and soft drinks. I was so looking forward to my steak and chicken fajitas. I’ve had the chicken before and the chicken and prawn and it’s definitely my favourite meal. The noise of them sizzling as they leave the kitchen just makes my mouth water. We had our shared starter of potato skins which were fine although our waitress didn’t seem pleased we were sharing a starter but we were planning on desert! My dish arrived in deathly silence, lukewarm dried up chicken and tough steak on almost raw veg, beautifully presented on nice white dishes. May daughter’s burger was almost the same temperature and the burger bun was burnt on the outside. By the time we finished it was after 5 so with no time for desert I asked my daughter to order me a coffee and get the bill. By 17.20 we were still waiting. Our server had completely disappeared. By 17.22 I had had enough and we still had to catch our feature so I went to pay the bill.
My daughter was so disappointed after all this was her favourite venue and for a price tag of over £33.00 my pocket and I were also rather put out.
