"Best decision I ever made"

I chose to have my first baby at the Queen Mum's this year, even though I knew it was old and due to be closed later this year and I live 40 mins away. This is the best decision I ever made. Having had numerous check-ups in the last 5 weeks of my pregnancy and being told everything was fine and that the baby's head was engaged, I was sent to QMMH to be induced after my baby was 5 days past her due date and had stopped moving so much. They started to induce me and were due to give me the second lot of prostin when they discovered that my baby was in fact breech. No-one in the 5 weeks up to that point had figured that out even though the baby had not changed position in that time. They saved me and my baby massive distress and delivered my beautiful little girl by emergency c-section the following morning. The care I received before, during and after was outstanding. It's truly a great sadness that it's closing down..
