A review of Canadian Affair by Unhappy Flyer written on Wednesday 30th of July 2008
My husband, myself and another couple recently visited my sister in Toronto Canada. We were booked on an Air Transat flight but upon arriving at Edinburgh Airport, we found out that we would be flying with Skyservice Airlines. The aircraft was a much smaller plane than any of the air buses Air Transat boasts of on their Website. However, the flight was okay, but the food was not up to snuff. The main meal was acceptable but the second meal was a chocolate chip cookie and a cup of tea.
The flight back was even worse. None of us ate anything. The flight left at 8:30 pm and dinner was served at 11:00 pm. The food was really bad and we there was no coffee or tea offered after the meal, that came a few hours later. Then came breakfast, that consisted of a chewy bar and a small cup of orange juice, again there was no tea of coffee at all. I have flown Air Transat before and have had no problems but I will never book with them again.
I checked their website and there is a footnote indicating that they have the right to transfer you to either Thomas Cook or Skyservice. I have heard nothing but good things about Thomas Cook but I wouldn't take the chance with Air Transat again just incase I was bumped to a Skyservice Flight..
