"Annexe versus the RAF"

A review of Knightswood Primary School by David Dougan written on Friday 1st of February 2008

Some time ago I wrote a short article about the Barrage Balloon unit who were stationed at the Annexe during the war. Mainly it concerns the football matches we played.

If you would like me to dig it out and include it, I can be found at trew35@aol.com

An interesting fact that may amuse the present pupils is that during very high winds, the balloon on occasion would sway over and the lines dangling from the balloon could hit the 16 bus going over the bridge in Fulton Street.

Very scary for the passengers!.
