"Gutted"

Not sure how much to buy I played it safe. The assistant had the opertunity then to say you can't return. Apparently there is a postcard size notice on the far wall. It's also on the receipt you get after purchase which is a bit pointless.

Anyway having made this genuine purchase in good faith I was sure the manageress would refund as goodwill since I'd spent £200 in store. No. So she phoned the owner. Who flatly said no it had to be a six month credit note. Not any good if you've finished decorating. I said I wanted to speak to her in person and was happy to wait till she was free. While I was waiting another customer came in with a roll and was annoyed to be given a credit note he didn't need.so clearly a well kept secret.

Her solution to my unhappy situation of being out of pocket £105! Was to phone the police!

I was so annoyed at their contempt for me I just waited till the police arrived.

Obviously a civil matter so they were annoyed at the shop wasting their time.

Would rather have bad will than good after sales customer service.

Shop at your peril as if you have any problem with the paper or what ever don't expect any sympathy..
