As a collector of bibles, I had to have an Allen’s bible after reading all the excellent reviews. They truly are the world’s finest bibles. Even more impressive is the customer service. Upon receiving my Allen/Oxford brevier blackface edition in highland goatskin with my name embossed on it, I noticed a small imperfection in the bible’s block (Obviously this is a rare occurrence.) I assume most people would not have even noticed it, but I contacted the director Nicholas Gray about it. Without any hesitation, he asked me to send it back for a replacement. Upon receiving my bible Nicholas examined it and found one that would be perfect for me. A problem occurred with the replacement during the embossing process. They had now lost two bibles because both had my name embossed on them. Nicholas found yet a third bible that was personally examined to make sure it did not have any imperfections and sent it to their London bindery to make sure that the embossing would be perfect.

During this process Nicholas and I exchanged e-mails over 20 times to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted in my new bible. He was very patient with me as I made a pest of myself I am sure. Having received my replacement bible and examining it, all I can say is that it is a true work of art. I place the utmost importance on God’s word and this is an edition that will be passed down for generations.
