"Castleton primary padlocking school gates"

Why is Castleton Primary School padlocking the school gates on a Sunday? Is it for security? I dont think so, as the main gate is open, and any bigger kids can nip over the fence. I take my kids over there on there bikes because there is no traffic and there is plenty of space for them to learn. where is the harm in that?.
