I can't comment on the experiences of Mr nicolson who wrote the previous review but can only share my own experiences of the services provided by Carpet Appeal. 
 
We moved into our house at the beginning of April & I called Michael in to give me a quote, my in-laws had told me about the great service they had received a year earlier from carpet appeal so it seemed like a safe bet. 
 
Michael came in at the time we agreed over the phone & measured up very quickly, he left us with carpet samples to allow us to decide which we liked in our own time. He did not push us into buying higher-grade carpets than were necessary, instead he took the time to discuss our different options with us and showed us samples of the different underlays available. 
 
We visited Michael’s shop a few days later where he quoted us a reasonable price for the work we wanted done. Michael also informed that he would take no payment until the job was done and we were completely satisfied, we agreed and Michael arranged to fit the carpets within a few days. 
 
We were amazed when we visited the house on the evening of the day that he started to find that all of the carpets were finished! The carpets had been well laid and perfectly fitted; we found a flawless finish throughout and were delighted with the quality and standard of the work. 
 
I would highly recommend Carpet Appeal to anyone
