Have AIC prove that they have the legal right to collect on the debt in question. I can pretty much guarantee you they won't be able to do it.
This company is one of the worst, most unpleasant, most useless collection agencies there are. As soon as you start asking questions, watch them backpedal.
The Debt Collection Industry forum boards on the Consumer Action Group website will reveal the truth what AIC are like.
