"Don't get caught out"

I went to Signature Bridal for my wedding dress. The staff were friendly and helpful and listened to all the suggestions I made in terms of alterations to my dress.  
 
However, they don't tell you at the time that if you want the train shortened it will cost an extra £50. They also don't tell you that you need to order an underskirt at £99.99 at the same time as your dress. Don't pay £100 for an underskirt, ask around - loads of people have one in a box somewhere or you can get a perfectly decent one online for £30.  
 
Be very precise in any alterations i.e. extra beading. Make sure you tell them EXACTLY what you want and if they can't get it, to phone you before doing anything.  
 
The alterations (fittings) will cost you £150 and get them done as late as possible as if you are dieting, as soon as they do the side seams you can't lose any more weight and the side seams are one of the first things they alter.  
 
It may not sound like much, but when you've spend £800 on a dress, it's heart-breaking to then have to spend another £300 on a few alterations and an underskirt.  
 
Don't get me wrong, the girls in the shop are lovely and incredibly helpful but weddings are a money-making scheme and everyone is out to make as much as they can.
