"Just discovered it's gone!"

A review of Ruchazie Primary School by Gavin Orr - Friday 13th of February 2009

Just browsing the 'net and discovered the Wikipedia article which included the fact that the school has been demolished - I am amazed, no one asked my permission.

I went to Ruchazie in the early sixties, and remember playing with my mate Kenny Sloan at break time, even though he went to St Phillips. Apparently joining Protestant and Catholic schools (were there any other types in the early sixties, I wonder?) together like this was a new idea at the time, one which I am very grateful for. I wonder if the enclosed playground for the little kids was a similarly modern idea?
