I shopped around Glasgow to buy an engagement ring. The staff in all shops were friendly and willing to 'do a deal', but for most that entailed just knocking a few hundred pounds off the marked price, and a 'I can't go any lower' situation was quickly reached. The people at Harold and son came across as far more personally empowered to really do a deal, and offered a far more personal service. Also, in my opinion, the variety of styles of rings was better than everywhere else. Their after-sales service has been excellent. Having the ring re-sized and cleaned was effortless, and we have been given an excellent deal on the wedding rings. As for the bottom line, all of the jewellery we looked at was significantly cheaper than the same stuff elsewhere. If you're looking for jewellery, I'd say start at Harold and son, and then see if anyone else can match them. In my case, no-one came close.
