"Pretending we're not in for a quicker delivery round."

Scenario: You find a Royal Mail card at the door stating you weren't in/ parcel too big for letterbox (!) You were in - the bell didn't ring and no door knocking. It happens often and my guess is that it is because the delivery person is on a tight schedule- much easier to fill all the cards in before he round, then pop the card through the door. Job done as we have to go into town center to queue in the cold.Christmas :(

We also filled in the Royal Mail card which states that my neighbours are happy to accept my parcels for safekeeping.

I am aware that it might not be my usual, very helpful Royal Mail postman postman. I think it a private delivery person used by the Royal Mail as my letter- post was delivered 4 hours later.

Shame on all who do this. My little boy has his birthday today and I paid extra postage for his present to arrive yesterday. We're instructed not to go to sorting office on the same day.and it is closed on Monday..
