Unfortunately I was in the same class as our teacher's son. Can you imagine it? It wouldn't be allowed today. I took Mrs Johnston's advice and prayed very hard that when the school holidays were over, we would have a different teacher. God did not listen. Sadly, I would be waiting expectantly to see if my prayer had been answered and Mrs J would walk in the door - I am convinced she noticed the shocked/horrified/disillusioned expression on my wee face and made it her business to strap me every day - usually for looking out the window. I can't help it, but I often wonder what happened to her grotesque son, David Johnstone. .
