Kingston Bowling Club, established 1849, on the South Side of Glasgow closed early 2012, due mainly to lack of members and the removal of transport links. A sad loss to the bowling world, but a reflection on the state of the sport in the Glasgow area in general with most clubs suffering from lack of new members and an ageing membership..
