"Hats of for Mr DIckson"

I have had one of the best educations in music at this establishment. The music class is one of the best, Barlinnie has an obligation as does the state to supply an education system and it does, however the artisticle department could be doing with a complete overhaul.A prison officer, Mr Dickson who all of the guys that have benifited from his amazing ability on the guitar and hold in high regard for his efforts, has given up his free time from 2005 to date in order to educate people not only in how to play the guitar but also the theraputic value that playing the guitar has to bring. Mr Dickson has endeavored free of charge for nearly ten years in the role as music teacher and I for one would press that this officer needs proper funding and pages for what he does. I believe and this is only my opinion , that Mr Dickson gives more of himself to the boys than what he is allowed to give in his pages role as an officer . That's not too say that he's a bad officer that's just to say he is a great teacher. Big thanks to you for all you have done for me. I'm sitting in my house with a new found way of expressing myself . Has it helped me stay out of jail ? Of course it has . If only other elements of Barlinnie had this type of effect ? As apposed to the revolving door status thus proving prison does not work. The authorities could learn a lot from this officer, maybe it's about time to follow his lead. Thanks Mr Dickson and that's from the hart ..
