Been into most of the music and guitar shops in glasgow, for various bits and pieces, and found that each one has a particular bias for one brand or another if you ask what is best for you, Probably because they get more commission on a particular brand, so their advice is not really any good, they will sell you a pig in a poke if you are not a fully competent acomplished musician and know exactly what you want.(I am a bit of a rookie, used to play with limited ability years ago).The exception to this rule is a guy called Charlie at south side music, the shop is a riot, but he tells the truth about his stock,your ability, what would suit your needs best, and the best price you can get your gear for, regarless of whether its a plectrum or a hand made super-duper expensive guitar.

As I said the shop is a riot, It looks like a wizards workshop! which probably goes with his ethos of proper helpfull advice for free,good prices for all kinds of equipment and repairs, and happy satisfied customers, rather than a fancy shop.

Thank you Charlie for not being a rip off merchant and for all your helpful advice.
